Repair Technician II


Summary

This position supports the warranty/repair department.  This position processes and repairs meters, provides warranty customer services and supports the Technical Manager.

Duties/Responsibilities/Essential Functions

  • Processes/sorts daily incoming repairs
  • Performs electrical or mechanical troubleshooting to determine problems
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair all products sold by TPI
  • Provide application assistance on all products sold by TPI
  • Dismantles, adjusts, repairs and assembles our products
  • Rebuilds units as required, may perform modifications as directed
  • May support shipping/warehouse as needed
  • Respond to customer technical/repair inquiries
  • Provide repair estimates to customers, obtain payment
  • Maintains clean work area, helps maintain organized & clean warehouse
  • Disperses parts to part bins
  • Provides inventory data for accounting purposes
  • Provides metrics for recording keeping purposes
  • Train future repair technicians on TPI product repair
  • Explain product features and operation to current & potential customers
  • Accurately complete requested reports/forms
  • Some data entry

Knowledge/Qualifications/Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience
  • A.A. degree in electronics or equivalent training
  • Four to six years technician level experience
  • Basic electricity
  • Able to use hand and power tools
  • Ability to solder in tight spaces on standard and surface mount parts
  • Troubleshooting
  • Able to work independently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Basic analytical skills

Work Environment

  • Office and warehouse setting, subject to temperature fluctuations, standing for long periods of time, lifting, bending (able to lift up to 50 lbs)
  • Moderate noise level
  • Regularly reach with hands and arms, stoop, or kneel
  • Occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles
